9th Westmeath Milltownpass Scout Group is thrilled to partner with FoodCloud. We receive generous food donations from Lidl and Tesco of ambient groceries, bread, fruit, vegetables, and pantry staples.
Our journey with FoodCloud began a few months ago, and the impact has been amazing. Not only are we saving perfectly good food from ending up in landfills, but we are also teaching our young Scouts valuable lessons about food waste and sustainability. This partnership allows our Scouts to learn about the importance of reducing waste and making thoughtful choices about food consumption. Moreover, the food donations significantly reduce the costs of our camps, making our activities more affordable and accessible for all our members. Our group has ambitious plans in the coming years and hopes to expand our FoodCloud partnership once that is in place to provide a community food hub so more members of our community can benefit and more food is saved from waste.
During our recent camp in Clara, we dined like kings, and every meal featured products donated by FoodCloud. From beans for supper to delicious baguettes for lunch, rice for dinner and a choice of cereals and eggs for breakfast. We also enjoyed lots of crisps, biscuits, and treats throughout the weekend. The donations played a vital role in ensuring our scouts were well-fed and happy, and the price of the camp for families was kept to a minimum. The camp showcased how beneficial this partnership is, enhancing our camping adventures while teaching valuable lessons about food waste.
We are so grateful for the support from Lidl, Tesco, and FoodCloud. We would like to thank the staff of Lidl Main Street Tullamore, Tesco Mullingar, and Tesco Tullamore, who are all so helpful when we call to collect. Thanks to their donations, we look forward to many more well-catered camps and adventures.
