Become a Food Waste Hero and Volunteer with FoodCloud

Our Food Rescue Project brings volunteers, food businesses, and charities together to rescue surplus food in Dublin and Cork delivering it to those who need it most. Our volunteers are the heart and soul of this project.

We are looking for new volunteers to join us. Are you interested in getting involved?

Our Food Rescue Project runs twice daily, one in the morning and one in the evening.

The Food Rescue Project collections use a Delivery Van donated by Tesco and a driver from the FoodCloud team. We use one or two navigators per trip.

You will be a navigator on the journey, helping with directions, collections and a record of the food required. You will meet our Charity Partners and can see for yourself the positive impact of the food you have helped to rescue.

What Volunteer Roles are available?

We welcome new volunteers who would like to join our community.

On our Food Rescue Project we require navigators who will help the FoodCloud driver with logistics, directions, collections and drop offs.

These roles are available to anyone over 18 years old.

Our navigators also keep record of the food acquired and liaises with our support team so it’s an important role. After collecting donations from stores, the food is then dropped off to one of our wonderful charity partners.

This work is rewarding; our volunteers can see the direct impact they are making in tackling food waste and food poverty.

Can I volunteer?

Anyone 18+ can volunteer as a navigator. You must be able to independently travel to and from our Hub in Tallaght or our Hub in Cork.

What time commitment do I need to make?

You must be able to devote at least one shift per month, ideally for a minimum of six months.

All volunteers need to be able to follow procedures, especially relating to food hygiene and safety, and adhere to FoodCloud’s organisational values and policies.
