Waitrose & Partners has been using FoodCloud’s technology since 2017 to provide surplus food to those in need. In that time, more than five million meals have been redistributed to a network of 10,500 charities and community groups in the UK.
Lidl began working with FoodCloud in 2017 and now operate a national food redistribution programme that sees all of our stores connected with local charities via the FoodCloud’s technology platform, Foodiverse. Lidl Ireland also donate to FoodCloud’s hubs and we then redistribute this surplus stock to our network of 500+ charity partners and community groups in Ireland.
Booker is leading the way for the wholesale sector by redistributing food directly to FareShare’s network of charities and OLIO’s Food Waste Heroes, in collaboration with the two organisations and the food-sharing app Foodiverse. This has been the first full year with all sites connected via the redistribution app and results include distributing over 5 million meals to 570+ charities across the UK
Aldi donates food to community groups in Ireland via FoodCloud Hubs and FoodCloud’s technology, Foodiverse.
Tesco has been working with FoodCloud since 2013 to redistribute food. They use our technology, Foodiverse, in the UK, Ireland, Czech Republic and Slovakia. They also donate to our FoodCloud Hubs across Ireland.
We've proudly worked with our UK partner, FareShare, since 2015. FareShare are the UK’s largest charity fighting hunger and food waste. Using our technology, FareShare connect charities and retailers across the UK. With FareShare’s scale and experience, together, we continued to redistribute surplus to those who need it.
GFN has partnered with FoodCloud, a Dublin-based food bank that has developed a virtual food banking platform used in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Eastern Europe. This partnership is exploring the feasibility of using this technology to scale food recovery and redistribution efforts in sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia.
Nando’s has adopted the Foodiverse app in Ireland and the UK to support their ‘No chuckin’ our chicken’ programme. In 2023, the business is on track to have its most successful totals yet, donating over 500,000 meals in 6 months which equates to around 124 meals per hour (mph).
KFC uses the Foodiverse app across the UK and Ireland to deliver surplus food from KFC restaurants to people in need, as well as preventing food waste.
Kellogg has been working with FoodCloud since 2020 and has donated the equivalent of 310,810 meals to date to FoodCloud’s network of community groups across Ireland
BWG Foods has been working closely with FoodCloud Hubs to redistribute excess food to those most vulnerable and in need in society since 2015
Having partnered with FoodCloud in 2016, Meade Potato Company has long been donating quality vegetables and helping community groups to build healthy eating habits within their services and amongst the clients they support.
FoodCloud is working with farmers in Ireland as part of its Growers’ Project after a successful pilot programme run with the support of the Irish government and Tesco. The 2022 trial saw 30 tonnes of food redistributed with targets for the full project now doubled to 60 tonnes of produce, avoiding emissions of approximately 192,000kgs of CO2 equivalent.
