Thrive Together Webinar Education 19/06/2024

Welcome to FoodCloud Academy’s first webinar series! This series is based on our four case studies that showcase the best practices of surplus food sharing projects. Each case study focuses on a specific theme and demonstrates how organisations started with a single idea and service, eventually growing to offer wide-ranging services that truly benefit their communities. Our four themes are education, partnerships, empowerment, and reducing stigma.

In this webinar, we focus on the theme of education as climate action. Adam from the Clonmany Community Centre will present the community pantry model, which redistributes surplus food while also leveraging it as a tool for educating the community on the value of surplus food and raising awareness about the impact of food waste on the environment. Also presenting is Lynsey Poole from the Larne Area Community Support Group, who has created a social hub that aims to bring people together in meaningful ways that positively impact the community. Lynsey will share her experiences with Larne Community Fridge and discuss several inspirational projects she has developed.
