Here at Feed West Cork we are coming up to 3 years serving the community. We open every Tuesday morning and we offer a cup of tea or coffee and a treat to everyone who comes in. Most of our clients would avail of our community cafe and come in for a cuppa or to chat to our volunteers. Our core team is Barry, Mark (in stores), Debbie, Lucy, Suzie and myself, Sandra. As well as offering hot drinks we also hand out hampers. We pride ourselves on our fresh baskets of veg and chilled stuff. Here, our clients have greatly benefited from the food that the FoodCloud Hub offers. The brand names/ good quality food gives people such a sense of dignity when they are at their lowest. We have noticed an improvement in some of their health based on the quality of food they receive. Peter Ross, a local farmer, also gives us fresh veg most weeks. For the last 3 years we have also had local businesses donating to us. We helped to set up other local food banks in Bandon and Skibbereen. I really appreciate all the staff here and the great work they do!
