Established in April 2023, our Foodbank has quickly become a vital support hub for families across East Belfast. Each week, we welcome between 35 to 40 families, providing essential food parcels that benefit over 100 individuals. We also receive generous weekly donations from Lidl, which allow us to offer fresh produce, bakery items, and other essentials that help ensure our families have access to balanced and nourishing meals.
Among the many people we support, there is a single mother with three young daughters who has been deeply affected by the rising cost of living. Keeping her household afloat on her own has become increasingly challenging, and the food she receives from our Foodbank has made a significant difference for her family, just as it has for so many others who visit us each week.
We offer nutritious and substantial meals to households struggling to make ends meet, along with hot drinks served in a warm and welcoming environment. While they wait, families have the opportunity to speak with our compassionate volunteers, receiving emotional, spiritual, and practical support.
In addition to immediate relief, we also signpost individuals to local organisations that can assist with utility bills, housing, and other critical needs. As word of our work spreads, we’ve become a trusted point of referral for other local organisations, helping us extend our reach and impact throughout the East Belfast community.
