An easy alternative to shop-bought bagels, using basic ingredients you may already have in the cupboard! This recipe makes two bagels but can be doubled if desired.
125g plain flour ½ tsp of baking powder 125g 0% fat Greek style yoghurt 2 tsp cinnamon 1 Egg for glazing 2 Tbsp milk (As required to wet the mixture)
Method
Add the flour, yoghurt and cinnamon to a bowl.
Mix well until a dough ball is formed.
Knead on a lightly floured surface.
Divide into two parts and form the bagel shape as shown in the image. (Tip * Use your hands to roll into a sausage shape and join the two ends).
Beat the egg with a fork and use a spoon or glazing brush to lightly glaze the dough with the egg mixture.
Sprinkle some additional cinnamon on top (optional) and bake in a pre-heated oven or air fryer for 30 minutes at 120 degrees Celsius, or until golden brown.
